Why I Chose Peace Over Pressure

I want to share a real story from my past experience.

I was working at a company that supported recruitment for large IT service firms like Wipro, TCS, Accenture, and Mindtree. Every day, we were expected to submit at least 7 non-duplicate profiles, along with a detailed tracker:

How many people were called

Who responded, who didn’t

Full details like name, email, and phone numbers

Even after office hours, a manager would schedule daily review calls—adding another 30 minutes of unpaid work each day. It wasn’t necessarily toxic, but it felt more like surveillance than leadership.

One of the toughest parts was working with Accenture’s recruitment portal, which required PAN, passport, and other sensitive details upfront, making it extremely hard to source fresh and non-duplicate candidates. Most entries were already in the system, making the entire process feel frustrating and demotivating.

After three to four months of this constant pressure and lack of peace, I realized:

This wasn’t the kind of work culture I could thrive in.

I chose to walk away—not because I couldn't deliver, but because I refused to sacrifice my mental well-being for a process that felt broken.

I’ve learned since then: A healthy work environment matters more than any big brand name.
